Rediculus Monk Armor prices
I want to dump my frustration here because I think the monk armor designs are far too expensive. I now give an Example. If u buy Warrior armor from Droknars forge it will cost u like 40 Leather squares for example. A leather square costs u 180 Gold a piece. So 40 will costs u quite some money but Hey It is a good armor. Now for the monk Design armor.
IT COST A REDICULOUS 200 ROLLS OF PARCHEMENT. While one roll of parchement is like 170 Gold a piece!!!!! That will cost u an absurd 34K max. For a Droknar armor that I think everyone deserves. Especially healer monks. So I think that the price of parchement has to be lowered allot or even better Lower the requirements of the monk armor. I hope somebody listens to this desperate cry of somebody who just can't afford to buy a decent monk armor at these prices.

Yeah a lot better to just make your own. And you are just talking about tattoos, that's also why they cost less then regular armor to make.

Parchment costs ~170 each at the trader. You can usually buy it from a player at ~100 each. Save yourself a lot of money and buy it from a person, if you don't want to go through the trouble of making it yourself.

It's one of the rewards from the Cities of Ascalon quest (second quest from Simon the Scribe in Ascalon City). It is essential in lowering your HP for using the Invinci-Monk build.

As a healer, I have no problems what so ever managing my energy with desert collector armour. If that 7 energy makes all the difference, I doubt your ability to heal.

No, it isn't. Chest tatt, for example, has +8 energy on it. If memory serves, the various cloth armors have +4 or +5 on them, but I could be off slightly on those numbers.

Using all tats as opposed to regular monk armor adds +8 energy total. Though, I'd doubt you'd trade +1 in a stat for +1 energy, so make that +7 normally. Tats aren't that necessary anyway.

Since I'm still pretty new to the monk and I'm still trying to learn energy management would you care to elaborate? I noticed Omg Kthxbye didn't use Tats for most of his armour. Sorry to be such a monk noob, but I'm just missing something here.
I bought all Tats at Sanctum Cay and I love the energy. What am I missing out on by not using a cloth armour and what do you suggest I could experiment with? Even links to forum threads or main site articles would be appreciated.

Actually, even I had a bit of trouble using Search to find a recent topic on Monk armor...here's one of Ensign's posts from June:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...03&postcount=6
You just have to weigh the pros and cons. With a good energy management scheme, +energy is still nice but not the end-all. If you're constantly at 0 energy, you shouldn't be asking yourself "How do I get more max energy?" Rather, it should be "How do I regain energy better?" Besides...I just don't like the look of tats. My monk has standards of decency.

At least you're not trying to craft 15k tattoos. You'd need 350 rolls of V-V-V-V-VELLUM to make that.

The Energy bonus from the tats is nice, but I think the tats look HORRIBLE if you go all tattoos. I prefer the large asthetic gain of the saintly+tats rather than the small energy gain of all tats.
Plus, using an IMonk (which is mostly what I do), Energy is a non-issue. I can cast any spell as fast as it recharges and never run out of Energy. With Bonnetti's Defense + Balthazar's Spirit, Energy is regened faster than I can use it. Also, the AR rating of the armor doesn't matter becase with Protective Spirit, ALL damage I take is 5 per enemy hit (Prot. Spirit calls for no damage greater than 10% max health, so I can't take over 5 damage per hit as my health is at 55). So my armor choice is really all for looks. I could use the basic armor from Ascalon City and still be just as effective using my IMonk build.
